Mel Chesley has been writing off and on since 1989. After several brief hiatuses, she has always returned to her story telling.

It began with Fantasy for more than 20 years; then morphed into Paranormal and Horror.

Both of these genres have inspired her, helped her hone her skills. While she still dabbles with Fantasy, her main goal right now is to open up her world of the Supernatural/Paranormal and Horror.

About The Dagrun

Dagrun. It's an ancient Norse word "Dagr" meaning period of time, i.e. day, lifetime. "Run" for "secret lore/knowledge/magic."
I find this fitting as paranormal and supernatural creatures have a lifetime of secret lore and magic, something mere humans are barely scratching the surface of these days.
My world of The Dagrun includes werewolves, vampires, witches, ghosts - and so much more. I have researched many folklore creatures from many different cultures. Tales from more than just the United States, England, and Irish/Scottish. I have included beings that warn you of dangers on your journey, or those that have been with you since birth and could provide every last detail about you, to the right person.
As our world gains more technology, from cell phone cameras to satellites, it has forced these beings into the shadows to hide, afraid to make their magic known. Some live in warded sanctuary towns, out of sight. However, some still walk among us, blending in, using their talents to help or manipulate. Who are they? Well, you'll have to read the books to find out!
